Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026 · Applies to the CityBoost apps for iPhone and Android
The short version: CityBoost has no account, no ads and no analytics. Your location is used on your phone to sort stations by distance and is never sent to us. We don't run a server that receives data from the app.
Who we are
CityBoost is made by Parlex Labs LLC ("we", "us"). You can reach us at contact@parlexlabs.com.
What the app uses, and where it goes
Your location
If you allow it, CityBoost uses your location while the app is open to sort stations by distance and show how far the nearest one is. This happens on your phone. We never receive or store your location. CityBoost does not use your location in the background.
Bike-share station data
The app downloads the public station feed published by Citi Bike (operated by Lyft). That request is like loading a web page: it contains nothing about you beyond what any internet request carries, such as your IP address, and it goes to Lyft's servers, not ours.
Maps and directions
iPhone: the map and walking times come from Apple Maps, and directions open in the Apple Maps app. Apple's handling of that data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Android: the map is provided by the Google Maps SDK, and directions open in Google Maps. Google's SDK automatically collects some technical information to run and improve its service — device and app diagnostics, crash information, a pseudonymous SDK identifier, your IP address, and how the map is used (for example, panning and zooming). This is collected by Google, not by us, under Google's privacy policy.
Feedback emails
If you use Send Feedback or email us, we receive your email address, what you write, and the app and system version the app fills in. We use it only to reply and to fix problems, and we don't share it.
Sharing the app
When you share CityBoost, the link goes to our website, which counts how many visits come from each kind of link (for example, shared from the app or scanned from a poster) in aggregate. It does not identify you or the person you shared with.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-in.
- No advertising, and no ad or analytics SDKs in the app.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No selling of personal information. The only data that reaches a third party is what Google's Maps SDK collects on Android, described above.
Deleting your data
We hold no data from the app, so there is nothing for us to delete. To remove a feedback email you sent us, write to contact@parlexlabs.com. For data collected by Apple or Google, use their privacy controls.
Children
CityBoost is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date above. If a change affects what data leaves your phone, we'll also say so in the app's release notes.
